Pre-Alpha Gameplay for Friday The 13th: The Game

By Fierce, 1 year ago
Any gamer who spent his or her youth in the '80s will remember with certainty two things: horror films were actually horrifying and Jason Voorhees never seemed to stay dead. Three decades later, and the latter still remains true; Jason lives.

Welcome to Camp Crystal Lake, a peaceful summer camp where the stereotypical and naïve teenage counselors frolic in the bushes, sing songs around the camp fire, and go skinny dipping in a pitch black lake, all while being hunted by a masked killer. Gun Media announced the other day that Friday the 13th: The Game has received the funding needed to become a reality. Gamers will have the option to choose whether they want to be one of the various counselor classes such as "The Jock," "The Edgy Guy," "The Girl Next Door," or if they'd rather be the maniacal Jason Voorhees.

Take a look at this early pre-alpha gameplay of a very terrified character trying to outpace a monster. Keep in mind that, so far, the most terrifying part of the footage is that it's of a title still early in development.

Friday the 13th: The Game is expected to be on Xbox One, but a time frame for its release has not yet been revealed.
