This week, Rovio CEO Peter Vesterbacka announced at the first ever Social Games Summit in London that the hugely successful Angry Birds will be coming to XBLA.

For those not in the know, Angry Birds was released on the Apple App Store in 2009 and has since gone on to sell over 10 million copies before being ported for use on other smart phones through the Nokia Ovi Store and Android Market.

New multiplayer modes were confirmed with Vesterbacka suggesting it will be similar to "old school Worms games".

No details were confirmed as to release dates or how exactly the game will work as it uses phones touch screen technology to allow players to aim and fire birds from a large catapult in to building and towers, knocking them over and killing the enemies inside.

Angry Birds is one of the most addictive games I have ever played. Anyone else looking forward to this?
