Halo 5 December Update Revealed

The Game Awards this week previewed a lot of upcoming games with a bunch of world premieres. However, some studios used it as a chance to show off upcoming content for games that we're already playing. One of them was Halo 5: Guardians, with Microsoft and 343 Industries taking the chance to preview the December free update, "The Cartographer's Gift".

Coming later this month, "The Cartographer's Gift" will add "brand-new Warzone (Battle of Noctus), Arena (Overgrowth) and Big Team Battle (Antifreeze and Entombed) maps, and more than 30 new REQs for armors, weapons, emblems and more." Forge mode is also making its return and has been labelled as the "biggest and most improved Forge mode ever".

In addition, the Halo World Championship 2016 begins this Sunday, December 6th. To celebrate, Halo 5 players can purchase a special Halo Championship Series (HCS) Premium REQ Pack. This pack will only be available until 12pm PST on Sunday, though, so don't delay if you're planning to pick it up.

"The Cartographer's Gift" update for Halo 5 is coming later this month.
