Though it may not have been one of the most popular titles of its era (certainly not like a Mario
or Legend of Zelda
), gamers-of-a-certain-age will often recall a title known as A Boy and His Blob: Trouble in Blobolonia
as among one of their most memorable. In the game, the titular Boy is able to advance throughout the game world by feeding the Blob different flavored jellybeans, each of which would cause the blob to react in a different way, such as becoming a ladder or a trampoline.
Published by Majesco and developed by WayForward Technologies, the minds behind Double Dragon Neon
, DuckTales Remastered
, and the upcoming Shantae: Half-Genie Hero
among others, a re-imagining of the title was released onto the Wii in 2009. With its colorful art design and faithfulness to the original, the title was considered a success, but was sadly only released on the one platform.
Today, Abstraction Games revealed via its Twitter
that A Boy and His Blob
will be coming to Xbox One. Not only that, but it will be released in very short order on January 19th. Pricing wasn't revealed at this time.
