Roblox Slated For Xbox One Release in Three Weeks

Quirky visuals? Yup. User-generated content? Absolutely. Geared especially towards kids and young adults? Also yes. ROBLOX is on its way to Xbox One, and if you haven't heard of it yet, don't worry. We haven't covered it here on TA until today and previous to typing out these words here, I hadn't heard of it either. It's been a hit, however, on PC, Mac, and mobile platforms for a while now. What is it? It's an MMO that lets users create worlds or play in those of others. It's an environment conducive to role-playing, exploring, and socializing with friends while making new ones. This Minecraftian formula has led Roblox to becoming "the #1 gaming site for kids and teens" according to the game's official website.

To introduce it to the uninitiated, including myself, here are a few older videos from the developers themselves to introduce two of the several games that will be available at launch within Roblox.

Tiny Tanks

Super Blocky Ball

These games are two of the fifteen that will be ready on day one for the Xbox version. An incomplete list of eight others include:

Reason 2 Die
Speed Run 4
Natural Disaster Survival
Coalesce
Strobe II
Giant Survival!
Bird Simulator
ROBLOX DODGEBALL

Now that you've been introduced, those who are interested should e-circle their smartphone calendars for January 27th, the game's newly unveiled release date.
