Upcoming Indie Oxenfree Partners with Skybound

Night School Studio has partnered with Skybound Entertainment to bring their upcoming narrative-driven game OXENFREE to additional mediums such as film, a web docuseries, and more. Oxenfree follows the story of Alex, her step-brother Jonas, and a group of friends who sneak off to Edwards Island, which is home to a decommissioned World War II military outpost. The supernatural, teen-thriller, coming-of-age tale takes inspiration from a mixture of Poltergeist, Super 8, and Freaks and Geeks.

Robert Kirkman, creator of The Walking Dead and CEO of Skybound Entertainment, had this to say of the new partnership:
Skybound is kicking off the New Year in a big way. As soon as we got our hands on Oxenfree and experienced this unique narrative driven game we knew that the IP had huge potential and that the Skybound team needed to be a part of it. Creating multiplatform entertainment in the thriller genre is in our wheelhouse, and it’s great to partner with the passionate developers at Night School to delve deeper into the Oxenfree realm.
One of the ways that Skybound is bringing Oxenfree to other platfoms is through the creation of a Making of Webseries called "The Story of Oxenfree", which will have a new episode every day this week leading up to the game's release on Friday. The first episode is available for viewing, and covers the creation of Oxenfree's story and inspiration. Be sure to check that out below.

Skybound will also be holding an all-day live stream of Oxenfree on their Twitch channel this Friday, January 15th at 2pm ET / 11am PT.

Oxenfree releases this week on Friday, January 15th on the Xbox One and Windows 10 for $19.99.

We've got the full list of OXENFREE achievements - check the list for guides to unlocking them.
