TA Stats - January 11th to 17th 2016

This report is for the period January 11th to 17th 2016.

Waddup TA'ers. Now we're fur deep into the new year and I've managed to squeeze out the stats for the whole of 2015, we're back to our regularly scheduled weekly stats-cast.

The Big Numbers
56,329 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 83,341 games between them (2,149 different games).

8,804 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 11,951 games between them (1,274 different games).

139,888 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 1,363,638 achievements online between them (57,856 different achievements).

Xbox One
New Games with Gold freebie ZHEROS leads by a long way on Started with over 13,200 starters. Judging by the current community rating and our review, it seems like a fair few of those may regret it. Two of the game's achievements lead on Achievements Won but don't expect it to appear on Completed any time soon as it seems contain extremely difficult, glitched or downright unobtainable achievements. Other freebie Killer Instinct also sits high on Started but, with no clear easiest or first achievements to get, it doesn't claim any spot on Achievements Won.

Recent, cheap and easy release Cubot - The Complexity of Simplicity does well on all three tables, taking third on Started with nearly 1,700 starters, first on Completed with 1,100 completions and two spots on Achievements Won.

The rest of the tables are filled up by the biggest releases of the end of last year, like https://www.trueachievements.com/Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops....htm and Fallout 4, and easy titles, like the Telltale catalogue.

A fair few new releases don't make an appearance, including The Banner Saga, Gone Home: Console Edition, OXENFREE and, perhaps most surprisingly, Assassin's Creed Chronicles: India.

Xbox 360
With the Games with Gold changeover splitting the week, prior offering DiRT Showdown leads while its successor Deus Ex: Human Revolution follows closely behind. Both games divide Achievements Won, with DiRT claiming the lion's share with eight spots. The rest of the Started list is mostly previous Games with Gold titles along with Backwards Compatible favourites Fallout 3 and South Park: The Stick of Truth (Xbox 360). The Completed list is an even more mixed bag with the likes of Cars and LEGO games appearing thanks to the Countdown to 2016 sales. With numbers that low (between 18-36 completions across the table) it's really anyone's game though.

The week's sale plonks Backwards Compatible title NBA JAM: On Fire Edition on the top of Started with 160 starters. It wasn't necessarily the most played game though as Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition, Banjo-Kazooie and Plants vs. Zombies appear higher on Achievements Won. Previous Games with Gold and Rare Replay titles take most of the places on Started while Completed is mostly given over to the episodic favourites of Telltale and Life Is Strange (Xbox 360).

Windows doesn't give us much in the way of excitement with the usual Microsoft fare filling things up. Here's hoping for some new releases to hit the platform in the coming weeks. Quite a few games have promised dual Xbox One and Windows 10 releases but precious few have actually materialised so far.

Windows Phone
At least Windows Phone has a bit more variety and a new release this week. Panzer Geekz (WP) pulls in over 1,000 starters and the top four spots on Achievements Won. It doesn't get close to Completed though as it was originally released with a number of unobtainables. Those have now been fixed so completions are trickling in. Time will tell whether it's enough to put the game on the table or if it's the usual free-to-play grindfest we see all over the platform these days. Christmas release Ridiculous Marathon (WP) follows it on Started with 170 starters and fills up the rest of Achievements Won.

Action-Adventure holds a fairly considerable lead over Shooter on Genres. Despite the boost to Action that Zheros will be giving, the precious few achievements that come with it don't give it enough of a kick to overtake Role-Playing,
