TA Stats - January 18th to 24th 2016

By Chewie, 1 year ago
This report is for the period January 18th to 24th 2016.

Welcome to the stats for the third week of January here on TA. With the excitement of the holidays now passed, things have settled down a little in this post-break slump. There's a steady stream of smaller releases coming our way, though, before some of the bigger names drop towards the end of February and into March.

The Big Numbers
58,957 TrueAchievements gamers started a total of 91,576 games between them (2,308 different games).

8,414 TrueAchievements gamers completed a total of 11,441 games between them (1,358 different games).

140,321 TrueAchievements gamers won a total of 1,447,156 achievements online between them (58,858 different achievements).

Xbox One
Despite the general critical scathings, Games with Gold freebie ZHEROS still pulls in the big numbers with 8,000 starters. Well, free is free. It naturally leads on Achievements Won but only manages one more place in ninth. The other spots on that table are split between new release Resident Evil 0 and Battlefield Hardline, which claims third thanks to a free EA Access period. Need for Speed Rivals, Peggle 2 and Plants vs. Zombies Garden Warfare all also appear thanks to the promotion along with recent releases Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege, https://www.trueachievements.com/Call-of-Duty-Black-Ops....htm and Rise of the Tomb Raider.

None of those games make the Completed table, which is reserved primarily for easy release Cubot - The Complexity of Simplicity, previous easy freebie Pneuma: Breath of Life, episodic adventure games and Fallout 4. The biggest recent release to make the table is Assassin's Creed Syndicate in tenth as it reaches almost 140 completions.

Unfortunately most of the other week's new releases, Gemini: Heroes Reborn, A Boy and His Blob, Electronic Super Joy, Albedo: Eyes from Outer Space and Clockwork Tales: Of Glass and Ink, are nowhere to be found.

Xbox 360
New freebie Deus Ex: Human Revolution steps above its predecessor DiRT Showdown as the most started title with nearly 2,200 starters. Both of those games share spots on Achievements Won, with Deus Ex claiming seven spots including the top four. Newly added Backwards Compatible title The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings and regional variant The Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings (EU) grab third and fourth, boosted by the fact that they were made temporarily free as part of the announcement. Previous freebies make up most of the rest of Started whilst Completed doesn't give us much that is new apart from previous freebies DiRT Showdown and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising making the table.

That new Backwards Compatible list gives us a new biggest starter with Counter-Strike: Global Offensive grabbing nearly 190 and a few spots on Achievements Won. Despite the rest of the list being XBLA titles too, none of them appear. Instead we get the usual mix of freebies and Rare Replay titles, along with episodic stuff filling up Completed.

Poor old Windows gives us literally nothing to shout about (or even whisper about) this week with the same old titles in mostly the same old positions. If only there was a big new Windows 10 release around the corner to really shake things up. OH WAIT, WHAT'S THIS?!? Sorry, that was a bit much but it's so needed.

Recent new release Panzer Geekz (WP) takes a massive drop in numbers this week from over 1,000 to a little over 220. It's still more than enough to comfortably hold the top spot though, with Ridiculous Marathon (WP) also dropping, though not nearly as much, from 180 to 100.
