Welcome to the wasteland. Before you freak out on me, this isn’t about another Fallout
game. The wasteland I’m referring to is the grounds for the latest entry into the open-world survival genre, Conan: Exiles
, from developers Funcom Oslo. Just recently revealed, the game takes place in the universe of Conan the Barbarian
. Players will start off their struggles for survival merely against the elements, focusing on hunting and harvesting for food and resources, before tackling ever-stronger foes and other players. If you like the idea of open-world survival in a game populated by other players but weren’t too keen on the dinosaurs that Ark
’s take on the genre brought along for the ride, you might be interested in this one.
Pit your skill and wits against the game’s unforgiving environs alone or join up with other players to build larger fortifications capable of holding off sieges. Conan
is planned to offer a single-player experience for those that prefer it, as well as both public and private servers for open-world PvP. Forge alliances and offer up enemy players on your deity’s altar to gain the god's favor and increased power and try to prevent your foes from doing the same to you. Check out the teaser trailer and screens below, and rest assured that as more info is released, we’ll have it for you right here.
is planned for an early access release on PC summer 2016 with a full PC release and console release to follow.
