The first major update to Tom Clancy's Rainbow Six Siege
- Operation Black Ice - is out now and quite a bit has been added to the game. Canada is the major focus of this update, with the new map and new operators all being Canadian.
The new map is set on the Boreal, a yacht that has run aground in Hudson Bay.
The two new operators are Buck and Frost from the elite Canadian special ops force JTF 2. Buck, an attacking operator, comes with a rifle-shotgun combination, whereas the defender Frost's unique ability is a leg trap that immobilise enemies when caught.
The final major part of the update is the new spectator mode that, as you may be able to guess by the name, will allow people to spectate in custom games.
The Operation Black Ice update is out on Xbox One now. The Boreal map will be available for all right away; however, the operators are only currently available to season pass holders until February 9th. At that point, it will be available to non-season pass holders for either Renown or Rainbow Six credits.
