Troglobytes Games has announced that their 2.5D Metroidvania style title Tenebrae – Twilight of the Gods
, which was originally just coming to Steam, will now also be making its way to Xbox One via the ID@Xbox self-publishing program. Sadly not at all related to the classic Italian giallo movie with an amazing soundtrack
instead features a massive procedurally generated underworld that unfolds around the player as they explore, and it contains all of the traps, secrets, creatures and massive bosses that you would expect from the genre.
Programmer and tech artist Luciano Iurino had the following to say about the news and the developers' mission:
The vision shared by all of us here at Troglobytes Games is to reinvent and redefine the Metroidvania genre, giving players our take on it with all the makings of a modern gaming experience. We've been waiting for the chance to develop on major consoles for a long time, and only recently we could reach our goal thanks to the ID@Xbox program.
