Disney Interactive will be behind the publishing, whilst TT Games - the team behind the successful LEGO video game series - will be developing the upcoming game.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean will be based around all four films in the series: the upcoming fourth film, On Stranger Tides, At World's End, Dead Man's Chest and The Curse of the Black Pearl. Expect to play with a huge variety of characters and visit many different locations in the different storylines from the Pirate series.

Graham Hopper, executive vice president and general manager for Disney Interactive Studios, spoke a little bit about the film to game conversion in the press release:

Pirates of the Caribbean is a globally successful franchise based in action, adventure and humor perfectly suited for a LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game adaptation. Combining the excitement of playing as Jack Sparrow and other recognizable characters from the franchise will make the game fun for players of all ages throughout the world.
Tom Stone, Managing Director of TT Games Publishing also spoke about the conversion:

The action-packed world of Pirates of the Caribbean is a perfect fit for LEGO video games. With so many wonderful characters, in such amazing environments, our teams are having great fun – and we’re sure that players will, too.
"Great fun for all ages", just what you'd expect from the LEGO games! Plus if you love LEGO toys, Disney Consumer Products and the LEGO group also stated that LEGO: Pirates of the Caribbean construction sets will be available in Spring 2011.

LEGO Pirates of the Caribbean: The Video Game is set for release in May 2011.
