The last time we heard about Thimbleweed Park
, it was a brief announcement as part of our ID@Xbox Gamescom Coverage
. All has been radio silence since then, until now. Developers Ron Gilbert and Gary Winnick have released a few minor details and a trailer for the upcoming point-and-click adventure. We already know that the game follows two detectives investigating a dead body, in a town down on its luck.
Paying homage to shows like Twin Peaks
and The X Files
, Thimbleweed Park
tells a tale of mystery and intrigue, where nothing is as it seems. Players will have five playable characters to choose from, numerous puzzles to solve, and a lot of areas to explore as they unravel the murder mystery in the run-down town. It doesn't take itself TOO seriously though, as evidenced by tongue-in-cheek jokes like "bloated and pixelated corpse". Check out the trailer below for a better glimpse into the game.
is set to release sometime toward the end of 2016 on Windows 10 and Xbox One.
