Minecraft: Story Mode Episode 5 Dated + Episodes 6-8 Announced

Telltale Games have today confirmed the release date of "Episode 5 - Order Up" for Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Games Series. Since the Wither Storm finale in Episode 4, players have been eager to find out what's next for Jesse and the new Order of the Stone.

On a tip from Ivor, Jesse and friends head to an abandoned temple holding mysterious treasures. Ambushed by former Ocelot Aiden and his crew, our heroes find themselves in an entirely new world: Sky City! As they explore, the Order finds that resources are at a premium, and nothing but 'The Void' exists below the known world. When Aiden convinces Sky City's ruler that the New Order of the Stone are up to no good, you'll need to make some tough choices to clear your name, and keep Aiden from destroying an innocent world.

Perhaps more exciting than an Episode 5 release date, is the unexpected news that Minecraft: Story Mode will continue beyond its original 5 episodes. Telltale have announced that we can expect to see an additional 3 episodes in 2016 that will continue to follow Jesse and the Order "as they explore new and unfamiliar worlds beyond their own".

These won't be stand-alone episodes though, so you need to have at least purchased Episode 1 of Minecraft: Story Mode to be able to play them. It's unknown at this time whether these episodes will be included for those who have already purchased the Complete Season, however it appears to be unlikely as that version does specify Episode 1-5. Update: Thanks to Groudon199 in the comments for linking to a Mojang blog post that confirms Episodes 6-8 are "not part of the existing season pass".

If you've yet to explore Telltale's take on the Minecraft world, then you'll be glad to know that it's currently included in the Xbox Spring Sale at 33% off (25% for non-Gold members). "Episode 5 - Order Up" will be available on Xbox One, Xbox 360, and PC on March 29th.
