Based on the international Anima Beyond Fantasy RPG books, Anima: Gate of Memories
is being developed by Anima Project Studio, the same team who wrote the original source material. It has been a little quiet on the news front since November, when publisher, Badland Indie, released a prelude trailer
delving into the title's backstory. We now have a few additional details on the upcoming action RPG's deep and multifaceted story where the choices made by players will impact the journey and ultimately decide the fate of the characters.
As The Bearer and Ergo, agents of an ancient society called Nathaniel which has protected mankind from the darkness for countless centuries, players must travel through the tower of Arcane and the world of Gaia where they will endure epic battles against formidable opponents.
Both agents receive orders to recover an ancient artifact known as The Byblos that has been stolen by a renegade of the order. After pursuing their target across a land ravaged by war, they corner the fugitive amidst an ancient construction. However, before they are able to complete their task, the entire area is swallowed by light. The protagonists awaken inside a strange structure, quickly realising that they are no longer alone; strange beings have also been summoned there. Soon, they will discover that something darker than they could have ever imagined is about to begin, a “war in the shadows in which they will have a leading role”.Anima: Gate of Memories
will be released sometime in Q2 of 2016, although no firm release date has been confirmed.
