Call of Duty: Black Ops III DLC Details, Map Previews and a Stream

The second DLC pack for releases this month, and with it comes four new multiplayer maps and a new zombie experience that sees players fighting for their lives in an undead World War II Pacific theatre. Plenty of details along with a few videos have been released to help prepare Black Ops III soldiers for the new content to come.

First up, we have the reveal of the four maps with a brief description of each:

Spire: Spire takes Multiplayer combat to a futuristic sub-orbital airport terminal set high in the clouds. Multiple levels and open areas promote intense, mid-range combat around a clean, high-tech civilian environment. Watch your step, because one wrong move could send you plummeting back through the stratosphere.

Rift: Head to the core of a harsh futuristic military complex, set high above an active caldera. Rift funnels and forces tight, intense engagements, where the only way through is forward. Utilise the unique core movement opportunities to outsmart and outplay enemies as you traverse the suspended rail system.

Knockout: Housed in a traditional Shaolin Temple with a retro twist, Knockout sets the stage for a bloody Kung Fu tournament. This mid-sized map showcases a sharp contrast between the mid-range engagements of the traditional exterior architecture and the tight close-quarters of an eclectic 1970’s styled interior.

Verge: In this re-imagination of the classic Call of Duty: World at War map, Banzai, Verge drops Multiplayer combat into the centre of a distant post-apocalyptic future, where two warring factions are entrenched in constant battle. Take control of the key bridge, fortresses, tunnel systems and waterfalls as you engage in high-speed action through this medium-sized map.
For you zombie lovers out there, "Zetsubou No Shima" looks to continue the adventure of The Origins characters, as they dive deep into the strange world on offer in the zombies game mode. This time around, the heroes are stranded on a remote Pacific island, home to the Division 9 facility:

...a secret biological research lab whose experiments with Element 115 and its effects on human, animal and plant biology has created horrors beyond belief.
As you can expect, the new zombie map will be full of new zombie enemies, different transport mechanics, new traps, and undoubtedly another range of side quests and easter eggs to fail at over and over again.

If you're wondering how characters Dempsey, Nikolai, Richtofen, and Takeo ended up on this dangerous island, find out in this video below as the heroes find themselves in yet another sticky situation:

The next video gives us a short preview of "Verge", and may look familiar to those who used to play Call of Duty: World at War back in the day. The new map is a re-imagining of the classic "Banzai" (BANZAI!) from WaW and will see players fighting in the centre of a post-apocalyptic battleground. Two competing factions will square off to maintain their water supply before the sources dry up:

Next up we have "Rift". Battles we heat up very quickly as players fight above an active volcano on a military complex.

Lastly, we have an exported stream as Treyarch sat down with producer, Miles Leslie and game designer, Matt Scronce, to discuss all things "Eclipse". Set yourself 50 minutes aside and then watch the stream as the team talk about the upcoming multiplayer maps and new zombie offering:

The "Eclipse" DLC pack for Call of Duty Black Ops III will be releasing first on April 19th for the Playstation 4. A release date is still yet to be confirmed for the Xbox One and the DLC won't be available on PS3 or Xbox 360.
