By Andrew Ogley, 1 year ago
For those who might have missed it, the latest title update, Ghosts of Meridian, for Halo 5: Guardians is now live. The new content includes two new maps, new weapons, vehicles and visual customizations. Additionally, the update will also include game improvements based on fan feedback, including multiplayer updates and fixes, improvements to the REQ Station UI, adjustments to vehicles, sandbox and weapons. There is also a long list of Forge additions too, similar to the title update back in February. A special highlight in this content is the inclusion of Tartarus’ Gavel, a Legendary gravity hammer that unleashes kinetic explosions with each swing, as well as Hannibal customizations for the Mantis and Scorpion.

The two new maps are entitled 'Skirmish at Darkstar' and 'Tyrant' for Warzone and Arena respectively with the launch trailer showing those maps in all their glory.

The updates don't stop there. We already have a heads-up for some new content that is inbound. Infection mode is due to return and has been confirmed by a trailer, although any further details are scarce at this moment.

As always, all the latest updates are revealed and covered in quite a fair bit of detail during the Halo Livestream. The latest update is discussed and some very interesting fan creations are also shown. It's a lengthy video, over two hours in total, but fans will no doubt enjoy some of the revelations in the show.

If all that fast action is too quick for the eye, we also have some screenshots for the new content, including a handy breakdown of the REQs in the update.

Finally, we have news regarding what is considered to be the biggest Halo cooperative experience in the franchise history, Warzone Firefight. The Beta has been announced and will be running from 10 a.m. PDT on Thursday, April, 14th until 10 a.m. PDT on Monday, April 18th. According to 343 Industries,

The beta will feature the Warzone map, Escape from A.R.C., with several additional maps coming with the full release later this summer. Up to eight players will fight together and utilize the Halo 5: Guardians REQ System to complete five rounds of increasingly difficult, dynamic objectives set against a timer to emerge victorious.

343 Industries have also announced that a new promotional REQ pack will unleash the most powerful REQs in the system. This pack will be available for just one week only (Thursday, April 14th, through to Thursday, April 21st), the Mythic Warzone REQ Pack will contain ten Mythic single-use power weapon REQs and one Ultra Rare or Legendary weapon or vehicle certification, if available. This will be available for use in all Warzone modes, including Warzone Firefight, ensuring players enter battle with the most powerful gear available.
