Oceanhorn - Monster of Uncharted Seas
has had a long journey since its announcement in 2011. After two years in development, the game was finally released on iOS in 2013, made a stop on PC in 2015, and will be arriving on Xbox One this summer.
The adventure game is frequently compared to The Legend of Zelda
series. It has also been highly praised for its soundtrack, which is no surprise, considering legendary Final Fantasy
and Chrono Trigger
composer Nobuo Uematsu was a part of the team.
Though the game originates from iOS, don't let that scare you - Oceanhorn - Monster of Uncharted Seas
underwent a complete visual overhaul before being released on other platforms.
Developer Cornfox & Bros had the following to say about its performance on consoles:
The console version is based on the remastered PC version and porting is handled by extremely talented Engine Software (Terraria, Mighty No.9) and FDG Entertainment. The console version of the game actually runs on PC's Ultra settings, targeting Full HD and 60 frames per second. That is a true testament to the involved team's skills!
No official release date has been announced yet, only the tentative time frame of summer 2016. Keep your eyes peeled if you're hoping to sail off on an adventure this summer.
