Ghost Games Announces End of Free Need for Speed Updates to Work on Next Game

The time has finally come. After a brutally difficult update in the form of the SpeedLists Update, Ghost Games has announced they will cease production of content for their 2015 title Need for Speed. The latest update brought the game to a grand total of 2200GS worth 24,000TA at the time of this article.

To celebrate, Ghost Games released an infographic with a ton of community stats:

Since Need for Speed made its return, you've spent a massive amount of time on the roads of Ventura Bay. You’ve collected over 9.8 billion REP points, taken over 35 million Snapshots, raced in over 10 million Drag Races, and beaten a total of 52 million Eddie’s Challenge Events. You’ve spent a stunning 950 million minutes customizing cars, no doubt helped with the $2.5 trillion in-game cash earned. You’ve shared more than 700,000 wraps, resulting in more than 13 million downloads by your fellow NFS fans.
The news is not all bad for fans of the series. Ghost Games is already hard at work on the next Need for Speed title which is current slated for 2017. They're currently inviting important members of the community to their studio in an effort to give those members an opportunity to help shape the future of the series. No details are currently known about the new title, but here's hoping E3 will shed some light on it. EA's press conference is on June 12th - we'll let you know as soon as we hear more.
