Gigantic Finds a New Publisher and Is Back On Track

By Kevin Tavore, 1 year ago
Last December Motiga, developer of Gigantic, announced that the game simply was not where they hoped it would be and that they would be laying off some of their employees as they'd run out of funding. Rumors quickly swirled around the internet that this spelled doom for Gigantic.

Today, Motiga announced a new partnership with publisher Perfect World Entertainment. The partnership will keep the project alive for both Xbox One and Windows 10 (and also adds another option to play on PC). Perfect World Entertainment is a major player in the PC free-to-play universe and the publisher of Neverwinter, so Gigantic seems to be in good hands.

To announce the partnership, Perfect World Entertainment released a short 2-minute trailer that shows off some of the game. You can see in-engine cutscenes as well as gameplay.

Last we heard, Gigantic was set to release in 2016. There's been no word regarding whether or not this has changed.
