Halo: The Master Chief Collection
may have forgotten Reach, but Halo 5: Guardians
remembers. The game is honouring the Noble Team with the "Memories of Reach" update, which is available right now.
We've previously detailed
what's coming in this update – as well as the outline for weapons balancing
being added at the same time – but the key additions are summarised in the trailer below. You'll see the return of Infection mode, a new arena map, and a whole host of new REQs, armor, weapons and attachments. The weapons and armor include items inspired or directly lifted from Noble Team's kit, including Jorge's Chaingun.
All players who start the game after the update will receive a free one-off REQ pack filled with "Memories of Reach" consumable items. There is an option to gain some of these REQs permanently, but it will cost you:
... an additional “Memories of Reach REQ Pack” promotional offer will be available for 120,000 REQ Points or $14.99 USD. Available for a limited time, the “Memories of Reach REQ Pack” unlocks three new permanent REQs, if available, selected from 12 new REQs launched with Memories of Reach. These include helmets and armor worn by Kat, Jun, Jorge and Emile, the most recognizable members of Noble Team, “Jorge’s Chaingun” weapon cert, Brute Plasma Rifle weapon cert, Helios Phaeton vehicle cert, and “Jorge’s Chaingun” stance. Each pack will also contain 12 ultra-rare or legendary single-use REQs.
The next big update is "Warzone Firefight", which was released briefly in beta
last month. No firm date has been announced for this, but we're assured it will arrive "this summer".
