Live Event Competition Announced For EA Sports UFC 2

EA Sports have announced a new mode coming to EA SPORTS UFC 2 in which the top ranked players will battle to become World Champion at UFC 200.

The new Live Event Competition is focused around the UFC Ultimate Team mode. For each qualifier round, gamers will have a pool of balanced fighters to choose from, each with the same attribute rating and move levels. From there you will be able to customize your fighter with up to five perks from an available selection of ten.

Each victory during a qualifier period increases your Event Score and moves you up the leaderboard. You can keep fighting as much as you like, but after your third loss you're out. Players also have the opportunity to try again and top their previous record. Your overall record and fighting time determine your leaderboard position. So a first round win awards more points than a five round battle.

The top player on the leaderboard at the end of the qualifying period will enter the Diamond tier and have a chance to compete in the Grand Tournament Final at UFC 200 in Las Vegas, the winner of which will be crowned EA Sports UFC 2 World Champion.

The first qualifier will be available from May 14th to May 19th, while the second qualifier will be available from May 30th to June 6th.
