Road to Battlefield 1 Continues with Free Battlefield 4 Content and Double XP

Those who haven't checked out the sales yet today should head on over, there's free stuff!

EA and DICE have announced another segment in the continuation of Road to Battlefield, where there will be free content and community events for Battlefield 4 and Battlefield Hardline in the months leading up to the launch of Battlefield 1.

From May 17th to May 24th, the "Final Stand" DLC will be free in Battlefield 4 and Battlefield 4 (Xbox 360).

There is a new community mission, too, "Bow Kills":

Jump into any Battlefield 4 multiplayer mode and map and collectively score 500,000 Million total Bow kills to get a Gold Battlepack. This mission is active between May 17th, 2016 9 a.m. PT and May 23rd, 2016 9 a.m. PT.
That's the direct quote from their website, but it's got to be a typo, because "500,000 million" is a very large number. 500,000 perhaps? (Update: since this writing, Battlefield staff confirmed on Twitter it is 500,000 bow kills).

There is also a double XP event running this week in Battlefield 4. At the time of this writing, no official end time has been given yet, but I logged in and can confirm it has already begun.

For Battlefield fans who also play on PC or PlayStation, "Final Stand" is free on PS3, PS4 and the Origin service.

The DLC is only free until May 24th, so grab it sooner rather than later, and those still trying to obtain the Call Me "Sir" achievement should jump on the double XP event. For EA Access members, Battlefield 4 Premium and Battlefield Hardline Premium are still available in the vault until September 1st.

Battlefield 1 doesn't launch until October 21st, so there's plenty of time for more events and free content until then.
