Splasher Inks Publisher Deal, Console Release Planned

Did you play Super Mario Sunshine, and later Portal 2, and think to yourself, "There's just not enough games around with paint-based mechanics"?

If so, you'll be pleased to know that Splashteam and their new publishing partner The Sidekicks intend to bring their 2D platformer Splasher to next-gen consoles.

The aim of the game is to rescue "Splashers" from the clutches of Inkorp, and the main mechanic for achieving this revolves around manipulating surfaces and enemy behaviour with paint. Just like Portal 2, each paint colour has a different effect on the environment. The developers are working on "more than twenty levels, a time attack mode with leaderboards, epic boss fights and many other cool features."

Specific next-gen consoles and release dates have yet to be announced, although the team is looking at a launch window between the end of 2016 and early 2017.
