Cyanide, the developer behind the Le Tour de France, has announced that this year's Tour will be coming to consoles in the form of Tour de France 2016, and is set to release next month. Cycling enthusiasts will once again be able to don their favourite team's jersey, ride in the Tour and aim for the world-famous yellow jersey.

This year's instalment brings with it a host of new features and improvements. Players will be able to immerse themselves in all of the Tour's beauty with even more realistic stages, all thanks to enhanced graphics that bring this year's route to life. Tour de France 2016 will allow players to experience all 21 stages, including the climbs of Mont Saint-Michel and Mont Ventoux, and take part in the iconic final on the Champs Elysées. Challenge mode returns and now features multiplayer, while the Pro Team mode now benefits from a slew of improvements as well as a “brand new sponsor and objective system”. Finally, sprint lovers chasing down to green jersey can now "throw their bikes" in order to gain those precious inches and be the first to cross the line.

Tour de France 2016 will be making its way to the Xbox One sometime in June.
