There Came An Echo is No Longer Coming to Xbox One

By Mark Delaney, 1 year ago
Over two years ago, we covered the announcement of There Came An Echo, a Kinect-enabled strategy game that was Kickstarter-bound with an impressive list of voice actors. It's now been announced that the game will release next week! a PS4 exclusive among consoles.

Iridium Studios ran into some issues when trying to port the game and decided to stick it out with Sony, not Microsoft or both, to get the game to the console space. It's likely the larger ownership base of the PS4 versus the Xbox One had something to do with the decision, though neither the developer nor Sony confirmed this. There Came An Echo is a real-time strategy game wherein you speak directly to your team via the voice features of the Kinect PS4. It features the voice talents of Wil Wheaton, Ashley Burch, and Laura Bailey, all of whose voices are seasoned and recognizable sounds in video games.

No sooner was this news confirmed than the game's TA homepage was removed permanently, leaving only echoes of what will never be.
