Pre-order WWE 2K17 and Unlock Goldberg in the Ring

If a WWE 2K game is announced and no pre-order bonus wrestler is revealed, does it even exist? 2K has announced this October's clockwork-like release of WWE 2K17 and if you reserve your copy early you'll be granted access to one of the biggest names the WCW, and briefly the WWE, has ever seen. Bill Goldberg, more commonly known by just his surname, along with two arenas, WCW Monday Nitro and Halloween Havoc, will all become available on release day for those that pre-order. Goldberg is most famous for his -- heavily in quotes here -- "173-0" start to his pro wrestling career before losing to Kevin Nash thanks to an interruption by Nash's close friend, Scott Hall.

Goldberg went on to fight in the WWE for a short time wherein he mostly feuded with Brock Lesnar, after the "Invasion" storyline when Shane McMahon bought the WCW to clash with his father's brand.

Goldberg had this to awkwardly say about his return to the virtual ring:
After 12 years away from the business, I’m incredibly honoured to work with WWE and 2K while following in the footsteps of such greats as Ultimate Warrior, Sting and Arnold Schwarzenegger. My son was a big part of this coming together, and I can’t wait for him to see his dad kicking ass in a WWE ring through the magic of video games. I encountered the likes of The Rock, Triple H, Brock Lesnar and Ric Flair during my WWE career, and now through WWE 2K17, I’ll be taking on the biggest and baddest Superstars of today – showing them once and for all that I am still ‘Da Man!’
No release date has yet been announced for the game, but 2K did say to expect it in October, as always.
