Pure Chess to Xbox One... Check! Arriving Summer 2016

By Sam Quirke, 1 year ago
Xbox isn't exactly drowning in chess games, but one more is on the way... and it's a pretty popular one.

Developed in 2012 for PlayStation 3 and later expanded to the PlayStation Network, Pure Chess has performed well, having been downloaded over two million times on Sony's various platforms. It's also turned up on iOS and Android and found success there, as well as the Wii U and 3DS. A trailer was released today to celebrate the imminent arrival of versions for Xbox One and Steam.

Pure Chess was designed to be the most authentic experience around, with developer VooFoo Studios getting help from a real-life Grandmaster to make sure everything was accurate. It will have tutorials for beginners, and allow players to "improve their chess skills and become a Grandmaster in their own right." You can see more of the existing versions of the game on its official site.

Pure Chess is heading to Xbox One sometime in the summer.
