Deus Ex: Mankind Divided Shows Breach Game Mode and 17 Minutes of Gameplay

I didn't think "arcade" and "Deus Ex" were two things that meshed well together, but this new Breach trailer may have changed my mind.

Breach is a new game mode that will be present in the upcoming Deus Ex: Mankind Divided. Players step into the shoes of a "Ripper" whose goal is to break into a corporation's servers and steal valuable data, not to mention escape with their life intact. Just like in the single player game, Praxis points can be used to upgrade their Ripper. Players will then be scored at how well they did, and can send their score as a challenge to a friend or foe. The game mode has a completely different visual style from the single player game and appears to take place in a virtual world of sorts. You can take a peek in the video and screenshots below.

Those simply looking forward to the story mode in Mankind Divided will not be disappointed either, as Eidos has posted a video with almost 20 minutes of gameplay. It looks to be near the beginning of the game. You'll start off as Adam Jensen, in your familiar apartment in the slums of the city, receiving a call from a familiar face, David Sarif. But as we've seen in other previews, things are much different now. Augmented humans are now looked down upon and segregated from society, even having to take different bus lines. The city-hub of Prague is very much alive; you can talk to people on the street to get hints and explore searching for loot. Side quests will once again return. You can see Adam Jensen searching for Vaclav Koller, whom Adam needs visit to fix his augmentations, in the video below.

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided launches this summer on August 23rd.
