LEGO Dimensions Will Receive New Content Through Next Summer

By Kevin Tavore, 1 year ago
Warner Bros' LEGO Dimensions is the studio's toys-to-life game (think Skylanders) where Lego sets of many themes such as Batman and Harry Potter co-exist in one world. New sets have been releasing in waves thus far (we've just finished wave 5 and should hit 9 by the end of the summer), and WB is proud to announce a wealth of new content will be available for the game in the coming months.

Expansion Packs

There will be sixteen new expansion packs releasing between September 30th and Summer 2017. They include the following properties:
  • Ghostbusters
  • Adventure Time
  • Mission: Impossible
  • Harry Potter
  • The A-Team Fun Pack
  • Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
  • The LEGO® Batman Movie
  • The Goonies
  • Sonic The Hedgehog
  • Teen Titans Go!
  • LEGO® City Undercover
  • Knight Rider
  • The Powerpuff Girls
  • Gremlins
  • Beetlejuice
  • E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial

New Content

The new content comes in the form of story packs and battle arenas. Battle arenas are will allow up to four players to play split screen. You'll unlock them by purchasing new sets beginning with wave 6. Each set will have its own arena with unique gameplay elements.

The first story pack will be Ghostbusters followed up by Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them:

The Ghostbusters Story Pack, based on the upcoming film, will provide a complete movie-based gameplay experience with six puzzle-packed levels and new LEGO® Gateway bricks that allow players to build Zhu’s Chinese Restaurant atop the LEGO® Toy Pad. It will also come with a buildable Abby Yates LEGO® minifigure with Proton Blaster and 3-in-1 buildable Ecto-1 which can be rebuilt into the Ectozer and The PerfEcto. The pack unlocks “Rip,” a new Toy Pad mode allowing players to tear open an alternate universe. In this mirror world, players have the ability to solve puzzles and affect objects and other items in the primary universe. And like all gold-tag minifigures purchased, Abby Yates provides access to a new themed Adventure World with its own unique Battle Arena. The Ghostbusters Story Pack is just the first of this new exciting pack type, with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, based on the highly anticipated theatrical release, still to come later this year. The LEGO® DIMENSIONS™ packs will be the exclusive construction toy offering this holiday for the exciting expansion of J.K Rowling’s Wizarding World.
If you'd like to see it all in-game, look no further than the E3 trailer which was just released:

The first new packs will be released on September 30th.
