Grow Up, the Sequel to Grow Home, Announced for August 2016

Will BUD ever find MOM, his parental spaceship unit? Find out in Grow Up, the sequel to Grow Home, a PS4 and PC exclusive from 2015. Developed by Ubisoft Reflections, Grow Home was a success of sorts and surprisingly removed from the usual big-budget Ubisoft titles like Assassins Creed and The Division.

The game centers around BUD, which is short for Botanical Utility Droid. BUD possesses some unique qualities that make him ideal as a utility droid, but rather clumsy to play in-game, which is part of the fun.

Grow Up will include some new abilities in addition to what is present in the first game:

BUD returns with new abilities that include his Floradex, which enables him to clone any of Grow Up’s 24 distinct plant species, and use their weirdly useful capabilities to bounce, catapult, and soar through the landscape and discover its secrets. With the help of a new flying friend, POD, he can tackle the game’s missions or take time exploring and reshaping its boundless world. Eventually, he’ll need to find a way to grow the planet’s gigantic Star Plants, climb into space, and reach the distant moon for a reunion with the final piece of MOM.
If this interests you at all, Grow Home can be purchased under $10 US on both PS4 and Steam. Grow Up will be coming to Xbox One in August 2016.
