A lot of you may have already heard of or seen The Culling
at one point or another over the past few months, and for those of you who have been crossing your fingers that the game will make it to consoles, well, something must have worked because Microsoft announced earlier today that The Culling
will be coming to the Xbox One via the ID@Xbox and Game Preview programs.
For everyone who has no idea what The Culling
is, it's a game that pits you in a fight to the death with 15 other people. You will be dropped in a contained environment with nothing at your disposal except for your wits and a handful of perks. You will then have to scavenge the land, creating spears, hatchets, knives and bows while maybe being lucky enough to come across a box or a locker containing firearms and explosives. The game itself will last a total of 20 minutes or until only one person is alive. And as the game progresses, the map will push you towards the center by releasing a poisonous gas that takes up the outer portion of your environment. Meaning that no, camping is NOT a legitimate strategy, not this time.
Words and descriptions are all well and good, but trailers speak volumes, and that's just what developer Xaviant has decided to give us:
does not have a set release date just yet, but we will keep you updated as soon as something is announced.
