Madden 17 Details Emerge

A new Madden game each year is something that football fans have come to expect as commonplace. And each year EA looks to add some new features or make some new adjustments in order to make their annual franchise fresh with each iteration; and that's exactly what they're doing this year with Madden NFL 17. While a lot of the gameplay is remaining true to the Madden name, EA has discussed a few additions coming to the game this year in the hopes of enhancing the experience.

The first big change coming to Madden this year is the "Play The Moments" feature which will allow players to only play the critical moments of a game, while simulating the rest.

Players will be invited to jump in at critical moments such as red zone drives, vital third downs, game-winning drives and more, offering the chance to prove your mettle in clutch situations.
This means that you will be able to take your franchise from week 1 all the way to the super bowl over a weekend. It gives players the option of speeding up games without being forced to simulate entire matches. This feature can be turned on or off at your desire, and can also be toggled in the middle of a game. This way, fans who wish to play out entire games may do so, or you can choose to play half of a match, and then turn on Play The Moments in order to speed up the remainder of the game.

Another addition coming to the Franchise mode this year is gameplanning. This new feature will put you in control of much more off the field than what we have seen previously. You will be able to game plan for different matchups, creating strategies that amplify your strengths and expose your opponents weaknesses. This will also come hand-in-hand with the new Big Decisions which will give you more control over important personnel decisions such as bringing a player back from injury and contract negotiations. Furthermore, EA has listened to the community feedback and added top requests to the Xbox One version of the game including practice squads, full player editing and a dynamic score ticker.

EA also released a handful of screenshots to show off their upcoming title some more:

Madden NFL 17 is coming to the Xbox One and Xbox 360 on August 23rd in North America and August 25th worldwide.
