New For Honor Interview From E3

For Honor made a big splash at E3 this year with its cinematic trailer and gameplay demonstration at Ubisoft's E3 conference. Since then we've only had some screenshots to tide us over. Today, an interview between the game's creative director Jason Vandenberghe and the Ubisoft blog reveals some new details about the game's campaign.

The story involves a war between three different factions - Knights, Vikings, and Samurai - that has lasted so long all three sides have forgotten why they even began fighting. Players will be able to play missions from the perspective of all three factions - each faction will have their own main character that you can customize (male/female, gear, etc.) and will tell their own story. There's also a big bad who has her own faction which serves as the ultimate enemy for the game's heroes.

The interview also talks about some of the new mechanics, such as the revenge system. If you're interested in the combat, it's probably best to watch the interview from about the halfway point (2 minutes in) so that you can see the mechanics Vandenbergue speaks about in action.

For Honor will launch on Valentine's Day, February 14th, 2017 for Xbox One.
