F1 2016 Release Date Announced As Real Life Drivers Get Hands-on

Last month Codemasters announced that F1 2016 would be with us in the summer. To celebrate the introduction of Azerbaijan's Baku City Circuit to the game and the sport, real-world F1 drivers Jolyon Palmer (Renault Sport Formula One) and Daniel Ricciardo (Red Bull Racing) play-tested it and gave their thoughts on the course, both virtual and actual.

Codemasters have also mentioned that F1 2016 will see the introduction of the sport's "iconic Safety Car and Virtual Safety Car" to deliver an even more authentic experience. Those that grab the Limited Edition, which will be available to pre-order, can expect a bunch of bonuses. The 'Career Booster' DLC will give these players a research and development booster, which increases your R&D percentage in each session of the game's career mode. Exclusive helmet and hub laptop designs will be thrown in too.

To see Palmer and Ricciardo's full laps on the virtual Baku City Circuit, check out the videos below.

Finally, a firm release date - F1 2016 will arrive on August 19th for Xbox One.
