LOTR: Battle for Mid-Earth 2 Server Shutdown

EA have confirmed on the official Lord of the Rings Battle for Mid-Earth 2 site that they will be closing the games servers at midnight (PST) 31st December 2010.

Fellow adventurers, It is with a heavy heart that we come to you today. After a long time of Middle-Earth mayhem and fun, we are saddened to let you know that the games within this franchise will no longer be available for purchase, and online servers will no longer be active after December 31st 2010 at midnight PST.

We hope you’ve enjoyed the Battle for Middle-Earth franchise as much as we have.

This will mean that thirteen of the games thirty five achievements will no longer be obtainable. The achievements affected are:-

The Hobbit and the Troll
Capture them all!!!
King of Kings
My Heroes are better than yours
Entrepreneur of Middle-earth
Capture and Hold
King of the Hill!
My Heroes!!!!
Middle-earth Financier
Try a tutorial
In need of a lesson

Not long to get boosting if you're looking to obtain the game's rather random full score of 705G.
