Halo 5: Guardians "Warzone Firefight" Launch Celebrated With Trailer

By Sam Quirke, 1 year ago
Last week 343 Industries and Microsoft announced that Halo 5: Guardians would be free for Xbox Live Gold members to download this week, in order to celebrate the launch of "Warzone Firefight", the new content update and the largest of its kind since the game's launch.

The new content is available now, but the free period isn't live yet. According to Xbox's Aaaron Greenberg, we can expect it to land later today:

Further to the free week, Microsoft have also mentioned that the game will be 50% off in the Xbox Store for those of you who like what you see. In addition, players who log in to Guardians "for a limited time with this release" will receive a free Gold REQ reward pack, and then additional packs for wins in the Warzone Firefight mode. For those interested in boosting their chances further with the "Spartan Recruit REQ Pack", again available for a limited time.

The Spartan Recruit REQ Pack will include the DMR loadout weapon, Magnum with Extended Mag loadout weapon, plus certifications and three extra REQs for the Rocket Launcher, Sniper Rifle and Scorpion.
To get you in the mood for the new game modes (which we detailed a few days ago), 343 released this trailer:

Don't forget to check out the new achievements that come along with the update, in both Warzone Firefight and Campaign mode's new Score Attack.
