Back in August, Xbox Magazine and Game Informer revealed
details on Rocksteady Studios' Batman: Arkham City
, sequel to the critically acclaimed Batman: Arkham Asylum (Xbox 360)
Fast forward to present day and MSN Games have released a world exclusive "teaser" trailer:
The trailer represents Batman's encounter with a private military group named Tyger. First, some background information:Arkham City
takes place one year after Arkham Asylum
and Quincy Sharp, the man who ran Arkham Asylum, has taken all the credit for Batman's work. Sharp being labeled a "hero" lands him as the mayor of Gotham, giving him all the power he could ever want. With this newly acquired power, Sharp implements his master plan: buy Gotham's slums and turn them into the new prison for Blackgate and Arkham prisoners. Keeping an eye on things is a group called Tyger, whose job is to make sure everything rolls smoothly.
Back to the trailer. We have a Sam Fisher-like soldier telling his team to engage Batman (seems like they are attempting to ambush him). Unfortunately for Tyger, Batman was ahead of the game and quickly disassembles the team with smooth and powerful moves.
What are some conclusions we can draw from this? Here are a few things:
(1) Sam Fisher could not withstand a mean right-hand hook from Batman.
(2) The soldier at the beginning sounds too much like Gaz.
(3) Enemies now might have Batman's Detective Mode. We can conclude this because "Sam Fisher" located Batman in the dark.
(4) Batman, despite being located, still wins, and this is probably because he's using his new gadget called the broadcast tracer, which allows him to pinpoint enemies.
Coincidentally, Batman: Arkham Asylum
is going for $15.00 as the video game deal of the day

has no official release date but is expected to come out Q3 2011.
