"Luke, I am... going to preview some upcoming Star Wars Battlefront content for you."

Setting aside the lame plays on famous Star Wars lines, the Battlefront team has given players a quick look at what they can expect from the multiplayer title in the coming weeks. First up, there is going to be a new offline mode called Skirmish. This will be free for all Battlefront players. The mode can be played solo offline or co-op with a friend in split-screen. It can be played on different difficulties and on two modes with which you're already familiar: Walker Assault and Fighter Squadron. EA hopes that the new mode will give fans "a new way to enjoy Star Wars Battlefront." Skirmish will be available next week on July 20th.

Next up, there is the "Death Star" expansion, of which we were already aware. Now we know that it will be launching in September. According to EA, like the other DLC packs, it will include new weapons, new Star Cards and two new heroes, "including one larger-than-life character we know you've been patiently waiting for." If you'd like to get your eyes on the new content, EA will be previewing it at the official EA Star Wars Panel livestream for the Star Wars Celebration on Saturday, July 16th at 11 a.m. PDT.

EA also plans to continue the events like last weekend's Double Score bonus and has hinted at upcoming login rewards and new contracts. They've also alluded to a scheduled free weekend for players to try out the "Bespin" DLC, much like there was an earlier free DLC weekend for the "Outer Rim" content.

"Death Star" will be the third expansion to arrive for Star Wars Battlefront season pass holders. After that, there is only one left on the books — an as-of-yet announced DLC pack that we know will be arriving in early 2017.
