Star Wars Battlefront Reveals Upcoming Heroes and Final DLC Setting

By Kelly Packard,
Just a couple days ago players were debating who we'd see as the two new heroes released with Star Wars Battlefront's upcoming "Death Star" DLC. Thanks to this weekend's Star Wars Celebration, we don't have to wonder anymore. Also revealed was the location and name of the final DLC pack scheduled for an early 2017 release.

The two new heroes added with the "Death Star" DLC will be the bounty hunter Bossk and everyone's favorite Wookiee, Chewbacca (staff member ChewieOnIce should be pleased). EA has also teased the DLC with a short trailer showing a space battle and a fitting blasting of Darth Vader's theme song (see above). They have promised the new maps will feature settings both "on ground and in space." Earlier this week "Death Star" was confirmed for a September release.

Rogue One: A Star War's Story

Last but not least, EA revealed the fourth and final Star Wars Battlefront DLC will be titled "Rogue One: Scarif," based on the new tropical-looking planet featured in the upcoming film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, which is out on December 16th. Characters Jyn Erso and Director Orson Krennic were revealed as the two playable heroes. "Rogue One: Scarif" is currently scheduled for an early 2017 release, which should coincide nicely with the film's release.

Though "Rogue One" will mark the final Star Wars Battlefront content (that we are currently aware of anyway), EA did announce earlier this year that they were planning to release at least one Star Wars title per year, so though it may be the end of Battlefront, it will be the beginning of something else.
