Gears of War 4 Campaign Gameplay Emerges, New Multiplayer Map

A special edition console, multiple limited edition controllers, co-op crossplay with Windows 10... the months leading up to Gears of War 4's October release have been a gold mine for Gears fans. Today Microsoft dropped a solid six minutes of campaign gameplay on YouTube.

Right off the bat you'll recognize the familiar voice and face of Marcus Fenix. Though it's odd to see him as a support character to his son JD and JD's friends Kait and Del, fans will be pleased to see his return nonetheless. The video takes place after their village his been overtaken by the Swarm and Kait's mom has been abducted. The group battles through a deathly storm, all while staying in hot pursuit of their enemy.

Older but wiser. And still a badass.Older but wiser. And still a badass.

The official Gears of War YouTube channel also posted a quick look at a new multiplayer map called Forge. This is the first time we've gotten a glimpse at any maps aside from the beta maps we've seen repeatedly -- Dam, Harbor and Foundation. It seems to possess the features Gears multiplayer fans are accustomed to: symmetry, central power weapon spawns and gritty locations.

Gears of War 4 is still scheduled for an October 11th release date with opportunities to play the game on October 7th for owners of the special editions or Gears of War Xbox One S.
