March 24, 2006: That is the date since the last Elder Scrolls game. Almost five years ago gamers were greeted with The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Ever since, gamers have been deprived of the goodness that is Elder Scrolls. Good news, folks: we only have to wait 11 more months.

At SPIKE's annual VGAs, Bethesda Game Studios announced the sequel to Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion aptly named Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim.

Accompanying the official game name was a short, exciting trailer, which teases and details the story behind Skyrim:

According to Bethesda, the game will be released on 11/11/11. That's right, only 11 more months and we will all have the next Elder Scrolls game in our Xbox 360. Time to countdown the days.
