A typical Western tale, the story of a young girl setting out on her own to try to make a living ranching... slimes? Okay, maybe it's not such a common story line. Slime Rancher
is a sandbox-driven first-person game where players jump into the slimy shoes of Beatrix LeBeau, a young rancher attempting to make her living wrangling slime creatures in the Far, Far Range of the solar system, located light years away from Earth.
The title has been in development for more than two years and took its first steps toward an official launch by joining Steam's Early Access program earlier this year in January. Currently it boasts "overwhelmingly positive" reviews
overall in Steam's aggregate review system where users have praised its charm as well as the developers' constant attention to bug fixing and updates.
The next step is a release as part of Xbox One's Game Preview program, where it will join other popular titles like ARK: Survival Evolved
and We Happy Few
. Slime Rancher
will be available on August 19th and was also advertised to be part of the Summer Spotlight promotion
when it releases.
