Oceanhorn - Monster of Uncharted Seas Sets Sail This September

Finally there is an update on Oceanhorn - Monster of Uncharted Seas. Though it started as just an iOS title in 2013, Oceanhorn was rebuilt for PC in 2015 and announced for consoles this April, though we hadn't heard anything since. Developer Cornfox & Bros and publisher FDG Entertainment have taken the opportunity of this week's Gamescom to step foward with the release date, screenshots from the Xbox One version and a console trailer.

Oceanhorn is often lovingly compared to The Legend of Zelda series. One of its most noticeable traits is its enchanting music, some of which is composed by legendary Final Fantasy and Chrono Trigger composer Nobuo Uematsu. If you watch until the end of the trailer, there is a message from Uematsu himself.

The adventure title features more than 15 hours of playtime, classic sword and shield gameplay as well as magic spells and "breathtaking 3D visuals." Cornfox & Bros says the console ports run at the same capability as the Ultra settings of the PC version, so there was no downgrade here when making the jump from PC to console. You can check out the screenshots below, which are from the Xbox One version:

Oceanhorn - Monster of Uncharted Seas will be available on September 7th for Xbox One.
