Remake of OUTCAST Announced For Xbox One

Older PC gamers among you may remember the action-adventure game OUTCAST from 1999. Generally well received by critics and players, a sequel was planned but sadly never saw the light of day.

Thanks to Bigben Interactive, the franchise has a second chance. The original game is getting a full HD remake under the title OUTCAST - Second Contact, and it's coming to Xbox One.

You'll play as Cutter Slade, a former Special Forces operative, investigating a missing probe after the discovery of a parallel world. Time is running out for both Earth and Adelpha after the probe's destruction causes a distortion of space-time. As well as a graphics overhaul, we'll also see a revamped control system and "many things that will even surprise fans of the original."

Original developers Appeal are responsible for the remake, and are presenting the game this week at Gamescom in Cologne. More details will surely follow, but for now we will have to content ourselves with a tentative release date of March 2017.
