Allison Road Rekindled Under Creator's New Label

By Kelly Packard,
Just a few short months ago, horror fanatics were devastated when Allison Road, which claimed to be the spiritual successor to PlayStation 4's P.T. demo, was canceled. Today its creator, Christian Kesler, has announced he will continue to develop the title under his own new label.

To provide a brief back story, the original studio, Lilith Ltd., was running a successful Kickstarter in 2015. The Kickstarter was scrapped about halfway through in lieu of a publishing deal with Team17. When this fell apart, the game was canceled. Kesler will now be producing the game under his own new studio, titled Far From Home, which he co-founded with his wife.

In an exclusive interview with IGN, Kesler described the inspiration for his perseverance in producing Allison Road:

It did take a bit of soul searching to find the drive again to work on Allison Road and to simply make a call on what to do next. After the set back, I took a bit of a break from working on it and re-evaluated all the work that had been done so far — the whole journey, so to speak. I started making a few (in my opinion) necessary changes to the story and the flow, little bits and pieces here and there, and before I knew it, it sort of naturally came back to life.
Right now Kesler is working on the project by himself and stated he is confident in his ability to do so.

For our gameplay trailer, I did all the modeling, texturing, shaders, lighting, etc., and thankfully a lot of the mechanics are already implemented from the previous development phase, so I can comfortably take the game forward by myself. If and when it comes to a point where new features and mechanics are required, or old ones need changing, I'll go look for support.
Though Allison Road doesn't have a release date or even a release window, horror fans can at least sleep a little easier (or perhaps worse) knowing it's still in production.

We don't have them yet, but we'll publish a story as soon as we pick up the Allison Road achievements.
