Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 Character and Multiplayer Details

A small wave of new details has surfaced for Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2, the upcoming fighting title developed by Dimps and to be published by Bandai Namco. New information regarding a new character, multiplayer modes, and quest details have been revealed as well as a few new screens, and a new video.

First up, we have a new character "Majin Vegeta", the darkest side of Vegeta. Vegeta is a character many Dragon Ball Z fans will have been eager to get their hands on. Players can look forward to destroying their opponents with ease once the title releases and Vegeta takes to the killing fields. Unless, of course, you want to take your chances going against this guy:

Take Majin Vegeta for a spin in the different game modes on offer. "Returning, enhanced and new" online modes will be available to take part in and players can choose ranked or un-ranked matches. If you're not a fan of stat-buffered fighters, then why not test your skills in endless fights with the optional "zero stat avatars" to see how good you really are. If this doesn't sound challenging enough, then how about the six vs. one Expert Mission mode? Don't worry, it's not you versus six players or NPCs but actually six players taking on a single NPC boss. This sounds relatively straight-forward enough, but you've got to keep an eye on your allies during fights. The boss will have the ability to send you or your team mates into "a different dimension where sub challenges will have to be overcome."

Quests will be making a return in the title but this time around the amount has doubled. There will be new versions of parallel quests from Dragon Ball XenoVerse, as well as a new system for "rare item drops". Players will be able to obtain rare item drops to help find the right costumes and accessories for their character.

Take a look at the trailer from Gamescom that showcases why fighting together is going to be necessary in the new title:

Lastly, Bandai Namco has revealed that an open beta will be available ahead of the game's full release but more details on this are yet to come.

Dragon Ball Xenoverse 2 releases on the Xbox One on October 28th.
