The Division Delays Upcoming DLC Expansions to Focus More On Update 1.4

If you're still out in the cold, snow-filled, virus-riddled streets of Manhattan in Tom Clancy's The Division, or even carrying your team through the challenges of the "Underground", then you're going to have to keep fighting the good fight without any new content for a little bit longer than expected as Massive Entertainment and Ubisoft has pushed back the upcoming DLC expansions.

The Division Update 1.2 Screen 3

Despite running server maintenance almost every week in an effort to keep the game as bug-free and problem-free as possible, it's still been a bit of struggle for Massive to satisfy everyone. Issues with weapons, environments, the Dark Zone, enemies, the "Underground", gear sets, and much more can still be found throughout the game. Although still thoroughly enjoyable, there are still vital improvements that need to made to the game if Massive want to retain the player-base they have built for the long-haul.

With this said, Massive will be focusing all efforts on Update 1.4 in an effort to improve the core experience of the game. Here's the topics that the team will be looking at moving forward:

  • Fixing bugs, including those listed in our Known Issues as well as many other ones
  • Making loot drops more relevant to the player
  • Enemy difficulty and time to kill
  • Gear Sets and weapons rebalancing
  • Solo player experience
  • Dark Zone and PvP balancing
  • Quality of life additions based on community suggestions (such a weapon skins no longer taking inventory space)

Once Update 1.4 is ready to roll, it will be available to download without the "Survival" expansion.

Massive will be looking at feedback from their official forums, Twitter, Reddit, and now directly from select members of the community in person. If you happen to be available from September 7th-9th, then why not head out to Massive's studio in Malmö, Sweden to provide your feedback on the state of the game and what can be improved moving forward? Plus, your food, flights and hotel will be paid for by Massive too!

I would personally be ALL OVER this but two weeks just isn't enough notice and I'm already working on those days. However, if you're lucky enough to have the availability, then all you need to do is fill out this form and hope that you're selected for the workshop.

Update 1.4 for The Division is scheduled to release in October. "Survival" is now slated to release before the end of the calendar year, and "Last Stand" will be coming next year.
