Minecraft Console Editions Get Tumble Minigame

It's been mere minutes since we last talked about Minecraft, with the announcement that all sorts of boss battles are arriving in the Fall for Minecraft's Android, Gear VR, iOS and Kindle Fire editions as well as the Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition Beta.

Console gamers aren't going to be left out, though they're getting a significantly different update. Many have already noticed Title Update achievement lists pop up today for the Xbox 360 and Xbox One versions of the game. While the content of those achievement lists focuses on the existing mini-game "Battle", the true purpose of the update is to introduce us to the second multiplayer mini-game: "Tumble".


The floor is lava (literally), and players will need to dig under their opponents in order to drop them in, while keeping an eye on their own dwindling platform. It's that simple, though with up to eight players going at it I'm sure things will get a little chaotic. The title update is free, though as with "Battle" we can expect further premium maps to be added later down the line.

Speaking of map packs, the third instalment of new "Battle" worlds has also landed on the Xbox One and Xbox 360 stores. Here's a quick look:

I'd be very surprised if there weren't even more achievements headed our way with subsequent Minecraft updates. We'll keep you posted as always.
