Two More Titles Now Backwards Compatible; Delisting Imminent for Mickey Mouse

By Kelly Packard,
Two more Xbox 360 titles have joined the backwards compatibility library today. It's no surprise to see one of them — first up is Forza Horizon, which was announced last week as a Games With Gold title for September, which will begin in just a few short days. The next title is Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse, a 1990's Sega Genesis title re-made as an XBLA title in 2013.

While there's nothing odd about it at first glance, Game Informer reported that SEGA confirmed to them that Castle of Illusion would be de-listed from all marketplaces as of Friday, September 2nd. Like other de-listed titles, anyone who has previously purchased the game will still be able to download and play the title after the de-listing date. If you're an XBLA collector, this is most likely your last opportunity to purchase the title. Though it does happen occasionally like in the case of Joust, once these titles are gone, they don't often come back.

That said, if the information SEGA gave to Game Informer is correct, you've got until September 2nd to make your purchases. The store page can be found here. Thank you to several members of the community for giving us a tip about the de-listing aspect of Castle of Illusion Starring Mickey Mouse.
